"Freezing The Moment"

People always tell you to enjoy every second of your child because they grow up to fast and it's only a heartbeat away before you will wish they were that age again. When you are in the moment it may not feel like it is flying by, but as you look back you realize how quickly 6 months, one year, 5 years,....came and went. I never wanted to forget my kids as babies, toddlers, first days of school, but even with my great memory I find that I have forgotten certain special things about them. Like the way their giggle sounded at two years old or how big of a grin they would get when I would show them the slightest attention at 6 months old. I thank God everyday that my camera has allowed me to freeze some of these memories for forever. My most treasured possessions in life is my pictures. I have always told people if there was a fire and I could only save one thing (besides my family and pets) I would save my pictures. Pictures tell everything about that moment and the memories that were created.

Clayton knows how important pictures are and took full advantage of having a camera in his hand to save this important milestone in his and sister's life. He is getting ready to turn two, and is full of life. I have had the pleasure of taking his pictures for the last year or so and I definitely saw him come to life at this session. He has always been a total cutie, but this time I could really see his personality shine. He loved being my little helper and mimicking me taking pictures. What I loved most though, is the way his sister's face lit up everytime he looked her way!

Grace just turned 6 months old and is full of smiles. She is so aware of her surroundings and is completely in love with Clayton. You can tell she can't wait to figure out how to get her legs moving so she can be up running around after her big brother. The admiration Grace has for Clayton is one of the small things that we tend to forget all to quick, and these are the moments I love to freeze.

"Today I Marry My Best Friend"

Ever since Keith and Sandra eloped ten years ago, Sandra has wanted nothing more than her dream wedding. So...for their ten year anniversary Keith made Sandra's dreams come true. Every detail was covered. They married on Valentine's Day, and being that they are the sweetest people ever Sandra chose to forgo large flower assortments so every woman that walked into the building would get her own flower as a thank you for spending her Valentine's Day celebrating their marriage. Sandra didn't forget the kids either, she had little Valentine's with goodie bags for every child that attended the wedding also. It just goes to show what giving and thoughtful people they are! They would give the shirt off their backs to make sure anyone that comes in their life is taken care of. They are truly loved by so many, and I feel honored to know them. Congratulations you two, on ten years of marriage. I know what you have is unconditional love for each other that will last your entire life!

"I'm on Cloud Nine"

"December 2, 2011:
Dear Diary,
Today we crossed over the Mississippi river and have finally arrived in Chicago, Illinois. The traffic is terrible here, but I'm really excited to be here and begin sight seeing. Love, Jenn"

"December 3, 2011:
Dear Diary,
I am on cloud nine, head over heels, doing my touchdown dance, over the top exit off the game winning field because I am finally engaged! After traveling up 103 floors, Mike finally proposed to me at the skydeck in the Sears Tower. I have waited for this moment for so long and never imagined such an amazing proposal. I am so excited to finally be Mrs. Dunn and can't wait to begin planning my perfect wedding. Love, Jenn"

I am not sure exactly how Jennifer felt on December 3rd, but from their engagement session I am pretty sure she was on Cloud Nine. Mike and Jenn are a match made in heaven. Sharing so many of the same interests like traveling and football only makes this couple that much more perfect for each other. You guys are amazing, and I can't wait for your wedding! Congratulations to the two of you!

Alex + Valerie = Amazing

After taking off this last month to spend some much needed family time, I was ready to get back in the saddle, and what better way to start this year off than with an amazing couple. I met Alex and Valerie only a few weeks ago when they contacted me about photographing their wedding. Like all of my past couples, I instantly fell in love with them. I felt they were a perfect fit for my style, and after their engagement session I realized why...they are naturals at just letting the moment, be the moment. I don't know if they feel the same way, but I had a total blast! If they were uncomfortable in front of the camera they didn't show it at all. They were all laughs, complimenting each other perfectly. I saw a true best friend relationship which I think is so important in building a successful life together. They are true companions and utterly amazing to be around!

To warm them up I started with some playful ideas...all I can say is I think I need to fire Alex from the bubble blowing career, or else Valerie really needs to start working with him on his skills. Eventually, he was able to blow a few out and it made for the greatest photo montage!

Thanks guys for starting my year off right. I am super excited for your wedding day! Good luck with all of your planning!
