Family: Through the years!

I love when I get to watch a bride and groom grow into a family. Nick and Rochelle 1st started coming to me when they got engaged. Since then I have had the pleasure of seeing them through their marriage, their pregnancy of their 1st born, their adorable newborn daughter Teagan, and now their first family photos. As they have grown I have grown. Each session I love more and more that they bring to me. Their wedding is still one of my absolute favorites.

It is so fun to watch Nick with his daughter. I remember back when they got married, him saying he didn't want kids and 3 years later he has the most precious daughter. You can see the daddy sparkle in his eyes. Rochelle has wanted kids from the second she got married. She has been a labor and delivery nurse for quite a few years so she was ready to take on the challenge of motherhood. She seems like an amazing mom for Teagan too. Oh and little Teagan, I could go on for days about this little cutie. I have spent the last 2 days trying to think of the perfect word to sum her personality up. Inquisitive is the best word I came up with. She was so into all of her surroundings it was almost impossible for me to get her to notice the camera. She was so serious only because she was so interested in everything else that nature could bring to her table and she most definitely wants to be completely independent. I remember even at her newborn pictures she was not like the other newborns I had taken pictures of. She was so curious about everything. I told Nick and Rochelle that they are going to have their hands full as she gets older because you can definitely tell that she is the princess of all in their family and wants to grow up way too fast. She was such a doll. I haven't seen her since her newborn pictures and could not get over how adorable she is. She has the most beautiful eyes and a ton of hair.

We attempted to get a good posed family picture during our shoot with everyone looking and smiling, but Teagan is my sort of girl; she loves making amazing candid shots more. This turned out to be one of my favorite family sessions this season so far. The 3 of them were so involved with each other and you could just see the happiness and joy that little Teagan has brought to this amazing couple.

I had to throw the 2nd picture in just because it makes me laugh so hard. Teagan absolutely did not want to touch the ground when she fell down and was so mad that no one would help her, while Rochelle is cracking up in the background at her. Priceless!

Babies: Clayton

Some of my favorite clients are people that come to me with ideas that I can expand off of. It makes my job easy and lets my creativity really flow. This is exactly what happened with Clayton.

Jennifer, Clayton's grandma, called me with a ton of ideas so I was really excited when their appointment time finally came. I had only been around Clayton once at a wedding and remembered how adorable he was. What I remembered didn't even compare to how adorable he truly was. He was such a sweetheart. Even with us all yelling his name, jumping around like crazy people, throwing him in different shots he still was a perfect angel, a total trooper. He totally reminded me of the Gerber baby. He was a delight to be around and I look forward to seeing him in the future!

Family: Three Generations

It's not very often that I get the pleasure of shooting 3 generations of family. Usually I only get to meet people's parents and grandparents at weddings so I was excited when I got the call to squeeze in this family session.

Norma and Jerry, had the most amazing girl years ago that grew up to be the most wonderful preschool teacher my son could ever ask for. She has the most caring, patient, friendly persona about her, that we absolutely fell in love with. Her husband, Bill, is hilarious. You can definitely tell he is the one that keeps the family laughing. In between each picture he was always putting leaves on himself or in his families hair hoping that they wouldn't notice for the next picture shot. Bill and Marge have two amazing kids, Billy and Dawn, and one amazing daughter in law, Misty.

The whole family, despite hating to have their pictures taken, were very easy and fun to be around. I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with them, getting to know them, and learning about their family dynamic. They are a wonderful family, full of life and kept their spirits high even when it started raining on us. I look forward to a future appointment with them, if Marge can talk them into it ever again *smile*!

Oh and did I mention that Marge just started an amazing cake business called Fetzer's Cake & Cookie. You can find her at http//fetzerscake.weebly.com. She does amazing work and her pumpkin cheese cake is to die for!

No the leaf was not sitting on her nose it was falling in mid air, but I couldn't pass up the amazing photo op!

Misty and Billy, have 3 babies of their own. Max, Tiny, and Romie. They definitely weren't camera shy and were absolutely adorable. I was able to capture a few pictures with them all looking which I was really thrilled about.

Dawn and her baby Marley!

I had to include this picture because I fell in love with Marley. We attempted to get a family picture including all three of their dogs but they were so excited from all the attention, that Marley was the only one that would give me any up close and personal attention. Maybe next time we can talk the other dogs into not being so camera shy! Not pictured but still very much apart of the family is Avery and Obie!

...and of course we couldn't leave out Nugget, their family goat.

Maternity: Four's Complete! (cont. from below post)

What more could you ask for then a healthy son and a soon to be healthy daughter. Sandy and Jason's family is finally complete. The whole family can't wait for their new little girl to be here. Grant told me, "there are going to be two of me soon." I think he still is hoping for there to be a little boy inside mommy's tummy, but I know he will be so excited when he finally gets to meet his new little sister. Their family will soon be the completed picture!

Family: Three's Company...

I've known Sandy for almost 20 years. Wow, I can't believe it has been that long! We have shared so many fun memories throughout time, and even though life has taken us to completely different places, we always end up living right around the corner from each other. It has been so nice being able to watch Sandy date Jason, marry Jason, have Grant with Jason, and now have a little girl with Jason.

I remember back in college when Sandy met Jason. He was perfect for her. They share so many interests and qualities, that its hard to believe they aren't the same person. They both love to have a good time and are so willing to help out whenever they can. I always laugh because I never thought Sandy would be able to find anyone that is as goofy as she can be, yet she managed to find Jason. They both have childlike spirits that can cheer up anyone or bring the life to any party. Grant is a very lucky boy to have such amazing parents.

Grant has grown into such a little man. He cracks me up because he has known me since the day he was born, yet cannot remember my name for the life of him. He plays at my house often even, yet still refers to me as Evan's mom. He is so polite. He always says excuse me whenever he wants my attention. He is just the sweetest thing!

I was so excited when Sandy asked me to take their first family portrait. It only took them 4 1/2 years to finally get them done. It was my pleasure to do them. I thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent together and I believe they were relatively painless for them!
