Mark and Amy have been so excited for their son Luke to be born. Amy has taken milestone pictures throughout her pregnancy documenting each month the growth of her unborn son and her ever growing belly! Mark told me as the time nears the birth of his son he gets more and more anxious to finally be able to hold his precious son. They couldn't be more adorable with the love they have for this little angel they have yet to meet.
We decided months ago to take a trip out to one of my favorite places to take pictures, Wind Wolves Preserve. The beauty of this preserve is indescribable. It is such an amazing location, full of beautiful landscape filled with wildflowers. It's absolutely breathtaking! I always enjoy my time with this couple, and have developed a great friendship with Amy over the past two years I have known them. I think I am just as anxious as they are for Luke to be born, so Luke anytime now you can come out into the world. We are all patiently awaiting your arrival!

Jaret and His Beautiful Mama
I had the pleasure of meeting Megan and her all too adorable son Jaret on Monday evening in Hart Flat. I fell in love with the area and would love to move there, but more so fell in love with Megan's super friendly son. He was so cute and instantly played ball with me. I love kids when they naturally are warm to new people. We challenged Jaret big time by not meeting for pictures till closer to his bed time. This could have been so disasterous, but he was such a trooper. He had his moments of rebellion against our wishes and wasn't super thrilled about pictures (what boy is though), but he hung in there and played around with us giving me smiles that would melt anyone's heart. He is definitely all boy; took many tumbles, but always popped right back up, dusted off his hands and got right back to playing. He is one fast kid.
All in all I think we had a successful session together full of laughs and giggles. He definitely loves his mama, and I find it so precious to see the bond she has with him.
He loved his ball and numerous times would throw it at me. I think baseball might be in his future with how strong of a throw he already has at 15 months old.
I absolutely love this picture!!!!!!!! I laugh every time I see it because this is how he spent most of his time. He definitely did not want his mom giving him kisses in front of me. Such a true boy!

"Ben + Renee = Angel On Her Way"
Ben and Renee are expecting their first child in a few weeks, Sophia, and they couldn't be more excited. They long to hold her in their arms and give her big kisses. I love listening to the excitement in parents to be. Little do they know the amazing feeling of love that will overwhelm them at the first moment they get to see, touch, smell, and kiss the beautiful child they created together. This very feeling of agape love will stay with them for the rest of their life, and be documented as the most amazing feeling they have ever had!
I absolutely love Ben and Renee and am so excited to see their family grow. I know Miss Sophia is going to be one very lucky little girl to have Ben and Renee as her parents.

My Kiddos
I slack majorly when it comes to taking staged pictures of my kids. Fact of the matter is they hate it! I never can take them out and have them both be in the mood to take photos for me, and quite frankly with our busy schedules I never have the energy to fight them on it, so I slack off and say maybe the next location I love I will. You would think that because they are my inspiration in following my passion for photography that I would take them out all the time, but honestly my passion for photography is more created from wanting to capture every special moment and memory we have so we can look back and remember our life. So . . . staged pictures aren't always on the top of my list, eventhough I love when they are all dressed up and cute (my daughter is a total tomboy and wears her hair straight down and workout clothes to school, she assures me this is the style these days although some how I think she is lying to me).
Well, this year I made a point to change that. With the help of bribery from my husband we talked the kids into giving me 30 minutes in the orchards by our house. I even took a timer and set it for 30 minutes so they would know I meant business. It worked!!!!!! Thank goodness. I finally have updated pictures of them to hang on my wall and couldn't be happier with them.
Evan is definitely the child that takes after me. He is full of personality and almost frustrates me when I want to capture one good sweet non goofy photo of him. It makes for amazingly funny full of personality pictures, but geez I really have to work for those good smiles from him. Kate is getting to that preteen age where everything I do is retarded and lame to her. She is way more reserved like her dad, but she has such a sparkle about her that is so rare for me to capture in a photo. She is the super sweet shy one of the two. She loves to mother and take care of her little brother and I just love that about her, but she is definitely getting the wonderful teenager attitude. We had fun though and they did well. Actually made me want to take them out again soon for some wild flower pictures, but who knows I might be getting way ahead of myself on that one. So here is just a couple of my favorites from our session! Enjoy!
They weren't fond of me asking them to kiss each other on the cheek, but I got the exact pictures from it that i was looking for so it worked out perfectly!
I have always loved Evan's single dimple, it makes his smile unique!
He is always goofing off. I think Kate was thinking would you knock that off I just want to get done with this and go home.
My little beauty!
So my kids always say they won't take pictures for me because I make it fun with balloons and bubbles for other kids and don't do that for them. Evan said I promised him the next time we took pictures he could have balloons so he sold me and honestly I love this picture and was happy with his suggestion.
He's a total goof and wanted to pretend to be the Statue of Liberty. Who knows where he gets these ideas from.
. . . And of course he remembered that I let kids jump so here's their jumping pictures!
After a few photos I told them we were done with the balloons. Evan has a very tender heart like me and he asked if we could write a message on the balloons so he could send one to Heaven to his Opa. I didn't have a pen so I told him to kiss it and Opa would know he was thinking of him, we had just got back from his Opa's memorial two days before I took these pictures. It really touched my heart he was still thinking about him!
Our session was a success!

Rolin Family 2013 - Orchard Session
I met Mike and Kristine about three years ago when Kristine was just opening her business "Kristine's Lil Loves". She makes the most adorable hats and really does a fantastic job. I ordered quite a few hats from her and I think the second time I went to pick them up I started talking to Mike and found out he shares a love for photography like myself and is super sarcastic just like my family. I instantly fell in love with them. Over the years we have become great friends. They are the sweetest people that will do anything for the people in their life. They have the cutest little girls, Mackenzie and Kylie, that I have grown to love and they play amazingly with my kiddos which is a definite bonus. This was the second session I have done for them. The first session was back in 2011 I believe, I brought the girls bubbles to play with during pictures and they loved it. Well, those girls have some amazing memories because they asked if they would get to play with bubbles again, and of course I brought them so it seems like this is going to have to be a family picture tradition for them.
I brought along a chalkboard to use for pictures. Mackenzie wanted to be the one to write their last name on it figuring we would take a picture after. Well, that didn't fly with Kylie because she wanted to show her picture too. So we let the girls have a minute to draw a picture first and this is the beautiful artwork they did.
Halfway through the session Mackenzie and Kylie left and Rapunzel and Snow White showed up for some princess play time!
